19-Jul-2020 – Shoe Lacing Photo of the Week
White Adidas sneakers with black trim and red & white and blue & white Checkerboard Lacing (from Kristi I).
Interesting how the blue is dominant on the left and the red is dominant on the right.
21-Jul-2020 – How to Tighten Shoelaces
Added YouTube video showing a dozen different shoe lacing methods with their own particular way of tightening – some of which are fast and efficient, some slow and tedious.
07-Aug-2020 – Major update to all YouTube videos. Each now includes “chapters”, which allow fast and easy skipping through the video, plus each has improved thumbnail images and subtitles.
27-Jun-2020 – Added transcript of a lengthy on-air interview from back in 2006 on ABC Radio (Australia).
28-May-2020 – I've spent most of May optimizing the step-by-step shoe lacing diagrams, building a library of 700+ composite images. Each lacing method now loads much faster & more efficiently.
11-May-2020 – First additions to this new section of the website, including details of the types of materials used in shoelaces plus the most common construction method.
Recent Website Feedback
I threw a bit into your tip jar; hope it helps. Though I don't visit often, fieggen.com is uniroinically one of my favourite corners of the internet. Low on the modern-web-BS, you've got the thing you like and you're gonna talk aaalll about it, and I like how you accept corrections (like the bit about discovering that the “Ian [Secure] Knot” isn't a new knot).

I'm using your lace site for a long time, almost about ten years and I absolutely love it. I cannot show how happy I am to come across such a wonderful and useful, purely informative website.

I stumbled across your shoelace site and was frankly astonished at the level of detail and effort. I would go so far as to say this website serves as one of the best compilation of knowledge regarding shoelaces the World has ever seen.
