FreedomKnot™ Shoelace Knot
This is yet another of the secure knots on which my own
Ian's Secure Shoelace Knot is based: Make an "O" and pass a loop through it from both the front and the back.
Step 1:

Tie a Left-over-Right
Starting Knot as shown, then cross the right (blue) lace over the left (yellow) lace to form an "O" in the
middle. The blue lace is now the left lace.
Step 2:

Make the left (blue) lace into a loop and begin to wrap it around the back of the "O" in the middle of the laces.
Step 3:

Feed the left (blue) loop through the "O" to end up in front.
Step 4:

Now, make the right (yellow) lace into a loop, this time wrapping it around the front of the "O" in the middle.
Step 5:

Feed the right (yellow) loop through the "O" to end up behind.
Step 6:

Now, simply pull the loops to tighten the knot. Like several other secure shoelace knots, the whole twisted mess of
the previous drawing will rearrange itself into a neat finished knot.

Finished Knot
The finished knot should be a tight, closed knot with a double wrap around the middle, as compared to the single
wrap of either my
Ian Knot or any
Standard Shoelace Knot. |
